What would one give for one's life, if asked? Yesterday my surgeon asked if I would give my leg for my life. I said yes, I will yes, I said yes....with Peter tightly holding my hand.

When I was a little girl a car backed over me, after I had fallen on my bike in a driveway. When I recently asked my dad what happened, after he and neighbors pulled me from under the car uninjured, he said that I got back on my bike and went happily on my way.

My leg will be partially amputated in early August and my doctor believes that I will be cured. He said that I will have a good life, which I believe to the bottom of my heart.

One thing that has become oh so clear through this journey is our connection with one another, the world over. We are a big village with opportunities to lift one another up, every single day. Every one of us.

I have been heartened and encouraged and loved well by others through this time. Thank you, thank you and thank you again. My oh my, you are beautiful people.

And lest one think this message is sorrowful, it is not. I well remember the spirit of a child to get back on her bike. After some months of staring at the ceiling, unable to walk, I am filled with the sure excitement to be out and about again in our golden world.
