The High Dive...July 24, 2021

I remember standing on the high dive at Sioux Park pool when I was a young girl. Maybe you remember a high dive too. Looking way, way down at that water, with one part of you that wanted to jump and the other part....well not so much, not one little bit...as the children waiting impatiently urged you on.

And then all those gasps and happy giggles, if you dared to jump?

It is fascinating that life cycles to the familiar, over and over. The universe is lavishly generous to us with opportunities given. You wake up one or even most mornings, and you are on that high dive. This week, I kept remembering a Hugh Laurie quote. He posed that we are never really ready to do anything. Rather, all that we have is now, as good a time as any.

And so, here are Peter and Ben, diving into something. Yesterday we visited the prostheses clinic for the first time. It was honestly equal parts dread and challenge, just like that high dive long ago.

But a thankful heart to have had Peter and Ben cheering this jumper on. There is no time like today for any of us...small or big stuff. So here's to taking that leap into the water below!
